About Amiya
Amiya Bowles is a rising star in the world of junior tennis, building an impressive résumé of achievements that reflect her dedication, skill, and competitive spirit. Her journey began at just four years old, hitting tennis balls against her garage wall, and has now blossomed into a promising career with national and international recognition.
Amiya’s most notable accomplishment to date is her three consecutive titles as Ohio’s state tennis singles champion, a feat that has solidified her position as the best player in the state. Currently ranked #1 in Ohio for the class of 2026, Amiya’s dominance extends beyond state lines. She also holds an impressive #14 national ranking, showcasing her ability to compete with the best junior players across the country.
Adding to her list of accolades, Amiya captured the Bordas and Bordas West Virginia Open Women’s Championship in 2023. In a dramatic three-hour, three-set battle, she triumphed over the #2 seed, further establishing her as a force to be reckoned with. Her victory at this prestigious event drew comparisons to tennis legends like Arthur Ashe, a testament to her remarkable potential.
In addition to these key titles, Amiya has been recognized as a Top 10 player by Tennis Recruiting for her graduating class, further highlighting her talent on the national stage . Amiya was is a two-time USA Today tennis player of the year in Ohio winner, locally, she was named the MSL Girls Tennis Player of the Year, and honored as Athlete of the Week by The Columbus Dispatch, showcasing her standing as a high school tennis star.
Amiya’s hard work and success have not gone unnoticed by the broader community. She has received special honors from the Franklin County Board of Commissioners and the Ohio State Senate, recognizing her athletic achievements and contributions to the sport.
